Electrical Work and Technology, Planned Together

The Electric Crew is a family-run team of licensed electricians based nearby in Kew. We work directly with homeowners, and Tom personally designs and programs every system we install.

That means one team can rewire your home, upgrade the switchboard, install the lighting, and set up the smart switches, cameras and Wi-Fi, all planned together from the start. No juggling separate trades, and no technology added as an afterthought.

We arrive when we say we will, explain everything in plain English, and leave your home tidy.

★★★★★

Tom was an absolute pleasure to have at our property. He came to help us with our home hub setup and was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and helpful throughout. Nothing was too much trouble, and he took the time to explain everything clearly, making us feel completely at ease. He was also extremely polite and courteous, and it was clear that he really cared about doing a great job. Highly recommend! Thank you Tom

LED lighting in a rewired Melbourne home

Full Rewire and Lighting Automation

During a large renovation, we rewired the home, upgraded the switchboard, installed LED lighting and ducted bathroom exhaust fans, and automated the lights. The owners travel overseas often, so the automated lighting also makes the home look occupied while they’re away.

Outdoor and garden lighting at a Melbourne home

A Few Power Points, and Then Some

We were asked to add power points in the hallway. While we were there, the owners mentioned a few other things, which grew into backyard floodlights, LED downlights to replace old halogens, and fixes for a walk-in-robe light and the rangehood lighting.

LED kitchen lighting in a renovated Melbourne kitchen

Kitchen Renovation Lighting

Recessed LED lights in the bulkheads and wall up-lighting for a warm, ambient feel, with old fluorescent tubes replaced by efficient strip LEDs for a better wash of light over the benches.

Balwyn North Electrician FAQs

When should we involve you in a renovation?

As early as possible. Talking to us at the planning stage means automation, data cabling and lighting can be designed in from the start, rather than added later.

Can our home look occupied while we’re overseas?

Yes. We set up lighting schedules that mimic your normal routine, and you can check cameras and control lights from your phone anywhere in the world.

Does our home need a full rewire?

Not always. Many homes only need part of the wiring replaced, or a switchboard upgrade. Tom will check your wiring and switchboard and give you an honest recommendation.

Can you fix a few small jobs while you’re here?

Absolutely. Many of our visits start with one job, like a power point, and we’re happy to sort out the other small things on your list at the same time.

What if the job changes after the quote?

We’ll always talk to you first. If anything changes, we explain why and send a revised quote before going ahead, so there are no surprises on the bill.

We Also Look After Nearby Suburbs

As well as Balwyn North, we work across Melbourne’s inner east and north every week.
