You’ll Deal With Tom From Start to Finish
The Electric Crew is a family-run business, started by Tom Kerr in 2014. When you get in touch, you speak to Tom, not a call centre or a sales team.
Tom specialises in helping homeowners bring their homes up to date: UniFi security cameras, Wi-Fi and networking, access control and video doorbells, Shelly smart lighting and energy monitoring, and garden lighting. He’ll walk through your home with you, explain your options in plain English, and recommend what actually suits the way you live.
Tom holds a Victorian security licence (922-020-71S) as well as his electrical licence, so cameras, alarms and access control are all done properly and legally.

How quickly will Tom get back to me?
Usually within one business day. If it’s urgent, call Tom on 0404 828 977 between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. Tom will come out, look at your home, talk through what you’d like to achieve and give you honest advice. There’s no obligation. If you go ahead, work is charged at an hourly rate and Tom will give you a clear quote first.
Which suburbs do you cover?
We’re based in Kew and mainly work in Hawthorn, Camberwell, Canterbury, Balwyn, Kew East, Ivanhoe, Doncaster and Brunswick, plus nearby suburbs in Melbourne’s inner east and north.
What should I put in my message?
Your suburb, what you’d like help with and roughly when. If it’s easier, Tom can take photos by text after you get in touch.
I’ve already bought my own cameras or smart devices. Can you install them?
Tom is happy to take a look. He’ll be honest about whether they’ll do the job well, and suggest alternatives if they won’t. It’s better to check before you buy, so feel free to ask first.
Do you do small electrical jobs?
In most cases, yes. If you’re not sure whether your job suits us, give Tom a call and he’ll tell you straight. Our focus is security, networking, smart home and lighting projects, along with general electrical work for our existing clients.
