Location: Kew, Melbourne
Client: Local beauty therapy salon
What we installed: A cascade of lampshade pendants over the staircase, a crystal chandelier, and pendants in the waiting corner and front window
The goal: Warm, beautiful lighting that makes the salon feel special from the moment clients walk in

A Cascade of Lampshades Over the Staircase
The centrepiece is the stairwell. We hung a cluster of lampshade pendants of different shapes, sizes and fabrics at staggered heights, so they fill the space from top to bottom and look like a sculpture as clients walk up the stairs.
Getting a cluster like this right takes planning: each pendant needs its own secure fixing and cable drop, the heights have to work from above and below, and the whole arrangement needs to look relaxed rather than random.

A Crystal Chandelier at the Entrance
Near the entrance, a crystal chandelier sets the tone as soon as clients walk in. It adds a touch of luxury and gives a warm, flattering light, which matters in a beauty salon, where clients look at themselves in the mirror.
Chandeliers are heavy and delicate, so they need a properly rated fixing point and careful assembly. We took care of both, and set the height so it’s a feature without being in the way.

Pendants for the Waiting Corner and Front Window
In the waiting corner, a small group of glass globe pendants hangs at different heights over the bench, giving a soft, relaxed light for clients while they wait.
We installed a matching set in the front window, so the salon looks warm and inviting from the street, even after dark.
